Black Maple Hill 21 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Cask #2 / Gold Wax
A very rare single barrel of 21 year old Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled under the relatively obscure Black Maple Hill brand.
This was matured in a single charred White Oak cask, and bottled by KBD from cask #2.
The Black Maple Hill label is independently bottled on behalf of a Californian company called CVI Brands. Older versions of Black Maple Hill were bottled by Julian Van Winkle III at Old Commonwealth in Lawrenceburg, likely using old Stitzel-Weller stock. As with much of his portfolio, his partnership with Buffalo Trace in 2002 meant responsibility for this brand was taken over by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers at Willett in Bardstown. The majority of their bourbon is sourced from neighbors, Heaven Hill.
